Mom Cafe started off as a page on Facebook designed to be a positive place to talk parenting, life, and unite a community. I wanted it to be different than other mom groups and keep it upbeat, positive and rewarding. I encourage support of one another and respectable discussions even if one disagrees.
Another purpose of Mom Cafe was to introduce you to local community businesses and events. Encourage supporting our neighbours and local businesses. Growing and consuming within our community benefits all of us, whether it be from product purchases or where we choose to hold a playdate.
The good news is that Facebook heard many small business and community pages struggle and created a way to get our page followers have our posts seen. You can now ensure our information gets into your newsfeed. It does take action on your part, you need to click the “Following” drop down menu and click “See First”. This way our content will show in your newsfeed.
There are other ways you can keep involved too. Our “playdates” book up fast with wait lists. We wish we didn’t have to limit but buildings and businesses have capacities! You can be notified by subscribing to events on our Facebook page. You won’t miss an event. You don’t have to attend if if doesn’t interest you, but you will have first dibs on securing a spot by getting a notification as soon as we post it.
Finally, we’ve expanded with the creation of our website earlier this year! We have a growing community directory, community event calendar (post your events for free!) and post about a everything and anything we feel relates to our target audience. If you don’t want to miss a post here on the site either, you can subscribe at anytime just to the right of this post. Under “Follow us” at the top right hand side of the page you can enter your email to be notified of article posts – right in your inbox.
