We love playdates. I try to organize a day every month where I can get together with friends, the kids can play, and we can socialize. Our go to for the last little while has been a familiar playcentre, but this year I’ve decided to switch things up a bit, and try some new things. This month we headed to Ceramics Canada. To start, she was very accommodating. Their party room is built for 16 kids. We had 20 kids show, and even with that we couldn’t actually include all that wanted to attend!
It took just over an hour for them all to pick and paint a masterpiece. We were free to hang out in the front room, or we could of dropped and went, as the Ceramics Canada staff had it all in hand. We will go back to pick them up once fired in about a week. The cost was anywhere from $6 to $20 depending on what they picked to paint. I call this an affordable playdate.
I am not new to painting ceramics. Every year as a child we painted a new ceramic ornament for our Christmas tree. My mom still has many of them which hang on her tree year after year. I like that Ceramics Canada offers even more than just keepsake ornaments, with the ability to create platters, plates, mugs, and so much more. A few years ago we created custom teapots for all the tea drinkers in our family, a keepsake and a useful gift!
We also plan on trying their Kids Night Out program which runs Friday evenings. $20 for pizza, drink, a paint project and dessert. It would make a great date night and would give enough time to head out for dinner. We could use a date night and my son would love to go back!
Overall it was a great fun outing and we most definitely will be planning another playdate here. Maybe I will even give my friends a morning off and supervise the kid crowd 🙂
